Check out this phat beat that I made.
Are there any cool web-toys out there that are rockin’ your world?

Look who up and joined the best party band west of the Mississippi…
Rivertown Band – Video/Photo Shoot
Thanks to Darin for extending the invitation to “play a vital role in the band.”
This story broke a couple weeks ago. At first I was ticked. I couldn’t believe somebody would do something like this. That feeling lasted only as long as it took for me to remove the plank from my own eye. I want to be angry & upset. I feel like I deserve that. Truth is, I deserve none of it. What I do deserve is shame, scorn, and death.
Thank you, Jesus, for stepping in.
And still, the bar has been placed just as high for me as it has for Michael Guglielmucci. Adam wrote a freaking AWESOME post about this. There is no room or time to wallow in Michael Guglielmucci’s sin. There would be if Michael Guglielmucci was the bar. But he’s not.
Thank you, Jesus for stepping in.
First post in 20 days.
Feels good.
No apologies.
I’m an ESPN junky. I find myself watching SportsCenter (and related ESPN programs) repeatedly throughout the day. Lately, I’ve been trying to wean myself off of ESPN, though. It kinda feels like every show is just talking about the same 5 stories over and over and over.
But with football season on our doorstep, this all about to change. Weekends over the next 4 months will be filled with bratwurst, ribs, and an assortment of other fatty meats. Phrases like “Standard Definition” will be lost on me… or at least worth a good laugh.
And then I heard about this.
I can’t even comprehend 15 years from now.
The same goes for figures like $2,000,000,000.
Do these people live in the real world? Where is Bristol, CT anyway? I think when you enter the city limits, you are immediately teleported to Area 51.
After a pretty busy couple weeks, I’m taking a couple days and going underground… limited email, phone, Twitter, meetings, etc. Realizing that I haven’t posted much of anything from our trip to BigStuf last week, I figured I’d throw out this rag-tag video I put together for the students at Access.
Enjoy! And see ya in a few days!
Saw this on Fox News this morning. I couldn’t believe some of the ways these folks are marketing their service…
Create the illusion of communication.
Play the field more effectively.
Just tell your side of the story.
Appease your family.
Have your cake and eat it too.
Is this what it’s come down to? Am I so afraid of community (or at a more fundamental level, communication) that I take measures to dial directly to someone’s voicemail?
Is there ANY situation where this could be used as a productive (anti-destructive) tool?
Last Friday, the Access Student Ministry returned from BigStuf in Daytona Beach. I’ve attended a number of camps and worked/programmed for even more. There is none better than BigStuf. (That is not to say that BigStuf is perfect. Maybe one day God will carve out a path for that to happen, and let me be a part. But until then, there’s BigStuf, and I’m not complaining one bit.)

Over the next few days (once I make a full recovery), I’ll share a few pictures, a little bit of video, and maybe even a few stories from the trip.
Thanks for praying for us. We had a great time. As Adam noted when we returned, “No lives were lost or created.” Thankfully, it turned out to be more than just a “good trip.” I’m not too keen on “good trips.” I’m more of a fan of moments. “Good trips” can set the stage for moments. But alotta times, “good trips” just end up being “good trips.”
Got it?
Good.
Moments are where its at.
Heart pounding moments.
Jaw dropping moments.
God reaching down from heaven to sock us in the face moments.
We had quite a few of those.
So, yeah.
Check back over the next few days for some of the BigStuf action.
Here’s a little nugget…
A student from our group who has been (and still is) carrying around some MONSTER baggage gave his life to Christ.
That’s a moment.
Google Alerts is pretty shweet. Its really kind of a geeky tool for me so far. I’ve plugged in a few basic search terms around my name, student ministry, Jacksonville, and Access Church. Every time there is a new Google search result of one (or a combination) of those terms, I receive an email with a link to the site. It’s a pretty cool way to track who is talking/writing/blogging about anything I’m interested in… like student ministry in Jacksonville. I really haven’t figured out what productive purpose the service has. Until now…
As I mentioned, I thought it would be kinda interesting to see where “Brian Reese” is popping up on websites around the world. Whether they’re referring to me or not (most likely not), I just thought it would be interesting to know. Again, geeky. So, for the past couple days, this guy has been showing up in my inbox…

So, if you’ve come across the headlines in your RSS reader (no pictures displayed) and are ashamed of your little chubby nephew/cousin/grandson, you can rest assured, its not me. I’m not a murderer. And no, we’re not related.
But, can you see the resemblance?
